Opening shindig for “Natural Spectacle: Art + Eco-Furnishings” on Saturday, June 7, 1-6pm! This group show features: Carlos Taylor-Swanson (fine woodworking); Harriet McNamara (photography); birdloft, the design team of Adrienne Wicks and Jeff Libby (fine woodworking); Claudia Riedener (ceramics); and Holly Senn (sculpture). We’re also previewing art jewelry by Di Luce Design (you’ll see the full collection in the fall).

Moss + Mineral is a design store with a mid-century modern vibe. We present art in an intimate one-room environment brimming with ideas on how to integrate artful objects into your own living space. We top it off with fabulous terrariums, vintage finds, and raw-gem jewelry – all the markings of a special refuge. We’re a small shop with big ideas!

For this show, clean-lined, eco-inspired furnishings provide the anchor for a “Natural Spectacle”. Carlos Taylor-Swanson, head of the famed Madera woodworking studio, breaks out with a new vision of green furnishings; while birdloft designers Jeff Libby and Adrienne Wicks innovate with new, streamlined architectural designs. Holly Senn pays nature homage with her fascinating wasp nest forms sculpted from the pages of discarded books. We’d love to see Claudia Riedener’s monumental ceramic busts peering out from a verdant garden – you will, too! Harriet McNamara leads us on a time-travel jaunt through her eternally favorite city – Paris  – where she worked with the great American photographer, Bruce Davidson, from the 1970s-1990s. Come and meet the artists, and see some amazing design!

Moss + Mineral is at 305 South 9th in downtown Tacoma, one block up from the Pantages Theater. For info, call 253.961.5220 or email mossandmineral@gmail.com. See you soon!
