Asking more questions than it answers: enigmatic sculpture by Quinn Honan. Photo courtesy of the artist
Metal artist Quinn Honan bends heavy metal to his will – with clarity, wit and tremendous style. We’re thrilled to introduce his artwork at an opening reception on Thursday, Sept. 18, 5-8pm – centerstage is a sculptural steel table made with wood from a ’63 Chevy flatbed and trimmed with a border of live moss!
Quinn is known for his architectural metal work gracing buildings and homes throughout the South Sound. M+M is excited to show his personal artwork that takes metal to a new level by combining powerful forms with a mix of heritage materials, and amazingly rich finishes and color. Come meet the artist this Thursday!
Sharing the same bill – the long-awaited return of painter Jeremiah Maddock, who has been living the nomadic life the past few years, and showing his work from NYC to LA and Berlin, with annual stops at Art Basel-Miami. We’ve been waiting for this – read more here.
Just arrived – bronzes by sculptor Kyle Dillehay – his fascinating pod shapes delicately mimic human organs and nurture live botanicals. These works are confounding, exceptionally beautiful and indeed worth the wait! Get a sneak peek on Thursday night!
Meanwhile, next door is the grand opening of Mod Curio, the fabulous new design store by Jon and Heather Almeda, from 6-9pm! This store really kicks up the local design scene (it reminds us of the Silver Lake enclave in LA), so don’t miss it…It’s going to be a great night!
